Arden's Garden's Guide to Vegan Sweets & Desserts in Atlanta

Anybody who’s ever watched The Great British Bake Off knows how hard it is to master a divinely delicious vegan dessert.

Anybody who’s ever watched The Great British Bake Off knows how hard it is to master a divinely delicious vegan dessert.  Every season, there’s at least one vegan baker who does their level best but gets knocked off by the third or fourth episode.  The challenge is that so many desserts feature two major ingredients: butter and eggs - not exactly vegan friendly! However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some wildly scrumptious vegan desserts out there and specifically here in Atlanta.  After all, Atlanta is a chef’s town, and we have bakers aplenty mastering the most delicious, decadent, plant-based treats.  Indulgent cupcakes? Check. Sticky Toffee donuts? You betcha.

Our CEO, Leslie Zinn, in addition to being a confirmed vegan has a major sweet tooth.  And while Arden’s Garden is best known for having the best juices and smoothies in town, we’ve also perfected the art and deliciousness of some yummy vegan treats. We’ve had vegan snacks and indulgent treats in our stores going back some 20+ years. Leslie will be the first to tell you that eating healthy does not mean denying yourself of one of the basic food groups - namely, sweets!  With that in mind, we compiled a list of some of our fave Atlanta spots for plant-based vegan sweets and desserts, starting (humbly, of course) with our own Arden's Garden.

Arden’s Garden

Arden's Garden peanut butter bites

Armed with a major sweet tooth and a great chef at Arden’s Garden, Leslie loves dreaming up treats and desserts to accompany our vegan meals, juices, and smoothies. Leslie’s philosophy is, “You’re going to gravitate towards sweets anyway, so it’s our job to create a treat that is actually good for you.”  Below are some of the things you can find on any given day at any one of our Arden’s Garden locations:

If you’re looking for an energy boost, our naturally made Peanut Butter Bites are packed with creamy, crunchy, and chewy textures, all while filling your body with the proper nutrients. Want something sweet and high fiber that you can eat any time of the day? Try our Fuzzy Kisses or our Better Brownies at any Arden’s Garden store! Our current favorite? Seasonal cheezecake made with sea moss gel, so you can satisfy your cravings while boosting your health.

Lastly, let’s not forget the power of a carefully crafted smoothie! Add a scoop of cacao nibs to your blend for a chocolatey, antioxidant treat, or go for one of our acai bowls with a local honey drizzle.

Nestled in the heart of Alpharetta, 2BWhole’s artisan bakery crafts gluten-free and vegan treats that turn traditional dessert expectations upside down. 2BWhole uses only the finest ingredients to create stunning vegan cakes that are loved across Atlanta.

That’s not all that 2BWhole has to offer. Their vegan chocolate chip cookies are irresistibly chewy, and their Greek loukoumades are a local favorite (not to mention gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free!)

The bakery loves to celebrate different seasons passing through Atlanta in their menu. Find treats like cozy pumpkin spice muffins during the fall and crisp lemon bars during the summer.

Dulce Vegan

Dulce Vegan is a cozy bakery and cafe in Kirkwood, welcoming dessert lovers into a warm space where organic, plant-based sweet treats and sandwiches are available. It’s a proudly queer and women of color-owned small business that features an array of cakes, muffins, cookies, and pies, all made with organic and local ingredients. They have a chocolate lavender scone that is to die for, along with cupcakes galore. It’s hard to make a standout biscuit in Atlanta (we’re a biscuit town, after all), but Dulce Vegan’s are so light and fluffy you feel like you are in biscuit heaven. Perhaps the best part? Dulce Vegan is right next to our Kirkwood store -so drop in for a smoothie to go with that cupcake.

Kupcakerie

Hidden in East Point, Kupcakerie’s vegan cupcakes are so good you’d think they were made with magic! The velvety Red Velvet steals hearts with its dreamy cream cheese-style frosting, while the Chocolate Ganache cupcake wraps you in layers of rich cocoa topped with silky ganache that melts into pure bliss. Though not fully vegan - they always feature vegan-friendly flavors.

This local gem radiates Southern hospitality through its treats and people, creating a sweet sanctuary where everyone—plant-based or not—discovers their perfect cupcake moment. Located close to Arden’s Garden headquarters, it’s a go-to spot for all celebratory sweets for our team!

The Vegan Sweetie

Vegan Sweetie isn’t a shop so much as it is a delivery.  It’s a Vegan Sweeterie started by a mother-daughter trio that is located inside the Moods Music Vinyl Store in Little Five Points - right down the street from our L5P location! . The best bet is to check their hours before heading over, but they appear to deliver anyplace DoorDash can go!   The Vegan Sweetie brings handcrafted plant-based treats right to your doorstep. This pop-up sensation transforms traditional favorites into vegan masterpieces, from pillowy soft-baked cookies to fudgy brownies that will melt your taste buds.

You can find this mother-daughter trio across local events, farmers' markets, and food festivals throughout the city. While they only do delivery from Monday to Thursday, you can find them at their shop from Fridays to Sundays at 1131 Euclid Ave, Atlanta, GA.

Flour + Time Bakery

Fun fact: Flour + Time Bakery is one of Atlanta’s only fully vegan coffee shops. Here, you can find an assortment of handmade pastries and desserts that are as tasty as they look. East Atlanta's Flour + Time Bakery elevates plant-based desserts into edible art while offering a cozy atmosphere to enjoy your treats.

Whether you’re looking for a place to work remotely or plan on stopping by for a quick bite, Flour + Bakery is a premium West Midtown location where you can enjoy some vegan sweets. Don’t have time to visit? You can also find them at the Avondale Estate Farmer’s Market, one of the many farmers markets in Atlanta!

Vegan Desserts in Atlanta

Atlanta's vegan dessert scene is full of sweet possibilities (pun intended), and we’re always looking for new places to try.  If we missed anything terrific plant-based or vegan spots, let us know!  In the meantime, remember we always have vegan sweets on hand at any one of our locations.  Peanut Butter Bites anyone?
